History

The place where our restaurant is situated used to be a careenage, where Mastrogeorgis, used to make the most beautiful ships and deliver them allover Greece . This careenage was well-known for its high quality. In the beginnings of 1975, Gialis, transformed it into a fish-tavern with exquisite sea specialties. Nowadays Carnayo follows the footprints of it’s precedents and continues to offe r chosen flavours and recipes in an environment were wood and stone meet each other harmoniously. You may find the present owners, Ioannis and Marina, always there, in order to offer you their best gastronomic creations.

Ask for the well - known plates with fresh fish by the local fishermen, taste our crawfish-spaghetti , anchovy, the kolimpito, the carefully chosen meat and really fresh salads with wild rocket and much more. Accompany our plates choosing the best from a large range of Greek wines. Do not forget desert, panacotta with wild blackberry ....

Carnayo , constitutes also a meeting point of eponymous Greek and foreigner visitors of island. We shall be waiting for you, each evening, during the summer season, in our garden in front the sea!
